Do you know you have eternal life? |
|
1st John 5:13 says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life….” So, “Do you know that you have eternal life?” If not, please take the time to read this brief message from the Book of Romans and learn how to be sure that heaven will be your home in eternity and not hell! You can know for sure that heaven will be your home in eternity if you will accept what the Bible says? First, the Scriptures tell us, in Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” There is not one person that is righteous in the eyes of God, for the Bible tells us in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Everybody is a sinner before God.” Then, the Bible tells us where sin come from in Romans 5:12, where we read, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” So sin came from our father Adam, through whom we received our sinful nature. Next, we must realize that God put a price on sin, and that price was death. In Romans 6:23, we read, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” So we know through the scriptures that death is certain for all men are sinners. This death, according to the Revelation 21:8, is ultimately the “lake of fire”, where death and hell are cast, which “is the second death.” Then again, we must realize that God has made a way whereby all can be saved. That way is revealed in Romans 5:8 & 9, which reads, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” We see then that Christ died for us on Calvary’s cross. He became our sin that we might become His righteousness. Thus we are left with this question which is found in Acts 16:30, “...What must I do to be saved?” The Bible says we must call on the name of the Lord to be saved. Listen to Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Then again hear, Romans 10:9-11, where we read, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” Therefore if you will but take God at His Word and claim His promise for your salvation and will in a simple word of prayer call on the name of the Lord then the Bible says, ...thou shalt be saved.” Our Lord Jesus is willing to save your soul and forgive your sins if you will in faith believing call on Him for your eternal salvation. Will you repent right now of your unbelief and pray and ask the Lord to save you from your sin and come into your heart? If you will then He will save you now!
